A little bit about us

We often get the question, how did you get into this business……
I kinda fell into bridal on a whim while living in Colorado. I quickly fell in love with everything wedding dresses. I ended up co-managing the bridal department at one of Denver’s top bridal salons about 10 years ago! My (now) husband had an opportunity to move to Kansas City for business and I of course followed him here. I worked for a shop in KC for a bit, then interviewed at another, for me it was just so different from my store in Denver. I kept talking to my old boss and she decided to ship me her samples and discontinued dresses she wasn’t moving in her shop. I started out very part time with this and working for my husband’s business the rest of the time. We were selling online for quite a while, then local brides started finding us! This was so cool, but they wanted to try on. We didn’t really have a place for them to try on, but we made a room upstairs work for a while, then more and more brides were finding us! My husband was so sweet and let me take over the entire basement! He threw up some walls and painted, hung a bunch of racks. More and more brides were scheduling and so we finally decided try a space. We found a space for 3 months and holy cow…. it was working, I felt like we finally had a real bridal store!!! We ended up searching for a new location and we opened up a shop of our own!
Urban Bridal Shop officially opened in 2016. When we were talking about opening up, I knew I wanted to stick with selling samples! I had made so many contacts throughout the years in bridal. Plus this just suits me, I mean it’s so awesome, you can get a killer designer wedding dress at a discounted price. I’m totally the one that when shopping walks to the sale racks first. Even though we are selling samples off the rack and our gowns are discounted, our main goal is to make sure that our service is top notch and we want you to have an amazing experience at our store!
We have built an amazing community of brides and families who continue to spread the good word and bring their friends and families back. Were thankful for all who have supported us in the awesome journey and we can’t wait to meet our new brides!
